MIET’s Education Department has been approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi (a statutory body of the Government of India) since 2006.
The NCTE as a statutory body came into existence in pursuance of the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993 on 17 August 1995, in order to overhaul the system of teacher education. The NCTE was established in order to achieve planned and coordinated development of the teacher education system throughout the country, the regulation and proper maintenance of norms and standards in the teacher education system and for matters connected therewith. The mandate given to the NCTE is very broad and covers the whole gamut of teachers education programmes including research and training of persons for equipping them to teach at pre-primary, primary, secondary and senior secondary stages in schools and non-formal education, part-time education, adult education and distance (correspondence) education courses.
CCS University (erstwhile, Meerut University) was established in 1965, to cater to the needs of higher education in western Uttar Pradesh. Presently, it is one of the premier educational institutes of the country encompassing a vast, beautiful and pollution free campus which sprawls over 222acres of land. Under the aegis of the university, 252 professional colleges/institutions, 109 colleges are administered.
